The story takes place in the great kingdom of Brumeterre, which has prospered thanks to the vast magical deposits that lie dormant within its depths. New, technologically advanced artificial life forms called "homunculi" promised the kingdom a bright future. However, a corrupted smoke emanating from deep within the earth has transformed the homunculi into ravaging monsters.
You play as Lila, one of the "tuners" whose powers can appease homunculi. You wake up in an underground laboratory and encounter a homunculus whose past is intimately linked to the tragedy affecting the kingdom.
Accompanied by the homunculi who have vowed to help you, you will embark on a long journey across Brumeterre in search of your lost memories and missing comrades. A story of destruction and renewal in an apocalyptic world, a few decades after the catastrophe of the Rain of Death.
ENDER MAGNOLIA is a metroidvania with RPG elements set in a dark fantasy world that takes you on a quest to save humans and homunculi across the destruction-plagued realm of Brumeterre. Explore the mysteries of this stratified civilization where magic and technology are one, through enigmatic locations such as an abandoned old city, blood-soaked laboratories, a majestic occult institute, and a gigantic factory.
Along the way, you'll encounter homunculi who have descended into madness, attacking those they were meant to protect. Face formidable enemies and free their souls with Lila's powers to make them your allies. Who will be saved at the end of your journey, humans or homunculi?
