Description
Discover The Eternal Life of Goldman on Nintendo Switch!
The Eternal Life of Goldman is a colorful but dark adventure that combines legends, fairy tales and mythology. It takes the genre on its head and offers many twists and turns.
You arrive on the Archipelago with a strange mission: to kill the Divinity, a mystical creature that everyone knows, but no one has ever seen. To find it, you will have to explore the many secrets that these islands hold. You will discover a place marked by tragedy, filled with eccentric characters and remarkable contrasts.
Upgrade your rod with new parts and unlock new skills to explore the hidden corners of the Archipelago and face incredible creatures.
Crafted with love, down to the smallest detail : The Eternal Life of Goldman is the culmination of years of effort by people who love cartoons, comics, and games as much as you do. We wanted to create an uncompromising 2D game of unparalleled beauty, which required us to go back to the origins of the genre and take the hardest path possible: meticulously hand-drawn, hand-colored, and animated graphics using classic stop-motion techniques. We took no shortcuts, and we believe the result was worth it. In The Eternal Life of Goldman, not a single room, not a single landscape is the same as another. Every location, every object, every character, every visual effect, everything is meticulously planned and executed by us, down to the smallest detail.
Remember the first time you saw a 16-bit platformer as a kid? How you couldn't believe your eyes? We want you to feel that again (or just feel that for the younger ones).
Inspired by the best of the genre : Rather than relying on clichés and formulas, The Eternal Life of Goldman reinvents the genre. The game includes everything we love about side-scrollers, in all their styles, fashions, and eras. But we left out all the frustrating things that make no sense and waste your time.
It's a challenging platformer that requires precision, but never turns into a torture session that requires you to memorize and execute an exact sequence of actions to the letter. The key to success is improvisation and ingenuity.
It's a game that encourages exploration and will give you a sense of discovery, but won't make you backtrack every time you gain a new ability or artifact. In The Eternal Life of Goldman, you never go for long without finding something interesting to do.
Ultimately, it's a game filled with complex scenes, strong characters, and a multifaceted story, but it's never weighed down by dramatic posturing and misplaced pretension. All the elements work together to create an adventure that will leave you breathless and heartbroken.
